Gender Justice Wins the Night: NWLC Action Fund Statement on Tonight’s Election Results

Washington, DC — Fatima Goss Graves, president of the National Women’s Law Center (NWLC) Action Fund, released the following statement on tonight’s election results:

“Across the country, up and down the ballot, voters have rejected Republicans’ hateful agenda. Instead, voters chose candidates who stood up for reproductive freedom, universal child care, and civil rights—because that’s what they want from their government. Americans don’t want to live in a country where the rights of women and the LGBTQ+ community are being attacked, where communities are being terrorized, and where basic needs like child care and health care remain out of reach for too many families. If the Trump administration thought its agenda of hate was winning, tonight is a harsh wake-up call. Voters made clear that they want leaders who champion the core values of the gender justice movement: hope, empathy, and equality.”
