Robbing Us of Our Futures
Reject the Trump administration’s pro-billionaire, anti-family agenda. Republican leaders in Congress are working right now to pass a disastrous budget bill that sets the table to defund Medicaid and SNAP—all to give more tax breaks to billionaires. We must act now to put families first.
Take ActionBillionaires don’t need more tax cuts.
Instead of taking commonsense steps to lower people’s costs or making sure that our tax code works for everyone, Republicans are looking to destroy the very programs that everyday people rely on for the basics.
Here’s what they are trying to rob us of to give tax cuts to billionaires and mega-corporations:
- Medicaid: Drastically cutting Medicaid will strip life-saving health care from millions of people and significantly impact access to long-term care, maternity care, and mental health services.
- SNAP: Slashing the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP will make it harder for millions of women and mothers to feed their families, especially when the cost of groceries is skyrocketing.
- Child Care: Child care is already unaffordable in every state, and defunding programs that help lower the cost of care will put 40,000 children at risk of losing access.
- Education: Major cuts to programs, including Pell Grants, which help students from families with low incomes pay for higher education will put college out of reach for many.
- Housing: Cuts to funding for building affordable housing means no end in sight to the housing crisis.
- School Meals: Massive cuts to school breakfast and lunch programs, puts 12 million students at risk of losing access to free and reduced-price lunches at school.
Tell Congress: the ultra-wealthy do not need more tax breaks, but our country needs health care, education, child care, and food assistance. Don’t let billionaires rob us.
