Washington, DC – The National Women’s Law Center (NWLC) Action Fund released a statement following House passage early this morning of the Trump-Republican reconciliation package:
“Donald Trump and House Republicans’ big, ugly bill is a betrayal to the millions of women and children who will lose health care and food assistance so that billionaires can get more tax breaks,” said Fatima Goss Graves, president of the NWLC Action Fund. “In the early hours of the morning, House Republicans irresponsibly rammed this bill through their chamber, despite massive public opposition and at the expense of their own constituents. Now, it’s up to the Senate to do what the House wouldn’t: listen to those that they claim to represent, reject this cruel bill, and protect the women and families who stand to lose the most if it passes.”
