Washington, DC – Fatima Goss Graves, president of the National Women’s Law Center Action Fund, issued the following statement after tonight’s ABC debate.
“This wasn’t even close – Kamala Harris is the decisive winner of tonight’s debate. The Vice President presented a clear plan to help women and families, while Donald Trump could only refer to ‘concepts of a plan.’ She delivered a scathing rebuke of the former president and his extreme Project 2025 agenda, repeatedly called for unity and prosperity for all Americans, and spoke passionately about her commitment to restoring reproductive freedom.
“Meanwhile, Donald Trump rambled and lied his way through 90 minutes of questioning, refused to say whether he would veto a national abortion ban, spewed racist and divisive dog whistles, and dodged any question that pushed him on whether he had a plan to help middle class families.
“The contrast couldn’t be more striking. Kamala Harris is committed to expanding economic opportunity and uplifting everyone, while Donald Trump, whose leadership is defined by beating people down, will continue to put himself and his billionaire allies ahead of women and families.”
